TRIX SRL

PRESENTATION

Trix SRL, born from the union of IT and patent experts with varied previous professional experiences, is a spinoff of the University of Bergamo that has developed innovative solutions to perform automatic analysis in the technological field.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

The focus of Trix is on the automatic and timely extraction of data from textual sources mainly consisting of patents and scientific articles. The results are summarised in various types of infographics addressed to decision makers in different company functions such as R&D and marketing.

The internal workflow involves an initial request from the client which results in the creation of a document database, subsequently analysed by artificial intelligence systems and ends with the generation of a semi-automatic report based on the initial requests.

I-Tex: Treatment of technical textiles by application of organic-inorganic ceramic coating with water-repellent, fluorine-free and formaldehyde-free properties.

DESCRIPTION

In Italy, companies in the textile sector are encountering difficulties caused by a number of concomitant factors, such as the unfavourable euro/dollar exchange rate, strong competition from emerging economies, and fluctuating demand trends. These are compounded by structural factors within SMEs, such as a highly fragmented industrial supply chain, a lack of medium- to long-term strategic visions and a low propensity for technology transfer. In response to market demands and mandatory and/or voluntary regulations, the I-TEX project proposes the development of a water-repellent treatment with a low environmental impact, with high added value in relation to the properties conferred, the products used and the high knowledge content. Through the condensation of selected metallorganic precursors, previously hydrolysed, the sol-gel technology will allow the creation of hybrid water-repellent coatings on fabrics that are durable to maintenance cycles.

Textile materials treated in this way will not only be linked to fashion and design, but can also be proposed in rapidly expanding sectors for which technical performance and durability of the effect prevail (from fabrics for sporting applications or those destined for the automotive sector, to textiles used in construction or agriculture, or more specific ones for aerospace composites), demonstrating a flexibility and potential that has not yet been fully explored.

Photocatalytic ceramic foams for the removal of micropollutants

ABSTRACT

The technology involves the design and construction of a prototype reactor which, thanks to the properties of an iron oxide and lanthanum photocatalyst, allows the degradation of micropollutants in aqueous effluents using light in the visible or sunlight range, possibly in synergy with other advanced oxidation techniques.

DESCRIPTION

The present invention has as its object a process for the degradation of organic compounds including the use of a catalyst supported on a support represented by a ceramic foam of synthetic mullite, in the presence of an oxidizing agent in the presence of ultraviolet or visible irradiation. The process does not require the use of lamps emitting ultraviolet radiation, making the costs more sustainable. The technology in question effectively responds to an increasingly topical issue. New emerging contaminants (human or veterinary drugs, endocrine disruptors, biocides, plant protection, etc.) are gradually being detected in natural/potable waters.

ADVANTAGES

  • Efficient and low cost process for the removal of micropollutants in water
  • Modular technology adaptable to existing treatment systems

APPLICATIONS

  • Drinking water purification plants
  • Waste water treatment plants
